Brooks and Dunn split

brooksdunn_350Brooks & Dunn are over. You thought I was going to say “done,” right? Come on, everyone is going to use that pun now that the country duo has called it quits.

Kix Brooks and Ronnie Dunn announced that they are splitting up after 20 years.

“After 20 years of making music and riding this trail together, we have agreed as a duo that it’s time call it a day,” they posted on their official website Monday. “This ride has been everything and more than we could ever have dreamed… We owe it all to you, the fans.”

They assured fans that there was nothing more to their decision.

“If you hear rumors, don’t believe them,” they wrote. “It’s just time.”

Brooks & Dunn, who have won two Grammys, will release a greatest hits album of No. 1 hits on Sept. 8 and perform one last time in 2010 with The Last Rodeo Tour.
