It's being reported that cocaine contributed to the death of infomercial king Billy Mays. Heart disease was the primary cause of death but the medical examiner listed cocaine as a "contributory cause of death, " and "concluded that cocaine use caused or contributed to the development of his heart disease, and thereby contributed to his death."
Apparently, he used cocaine a few days before his death and therapeutic amounts of painkillers hydrocodone, oxycodone, tramadol, alprazolam and diazepam were found in his system due to a recent hip replacement.
The report also said that cocaine can raise the arterial blood pressure, thicken of the left wall of the ventricle and accelerate the formation of atherosclerosis in the coronary arteries.
