O.J.’s latest legal drama - over his suit

Simpson was cleared in the murder charges for his ex-wife, Nicole Simpson Brown, and her friend Ron Goldman, in his infamous trial and the suit he was wearing on the day of his acquittal has since become the subject of much legal shenanigans.

Simpson’s former manager, Mike Gilbert, claims Simpson gave him the clothing the day after his trial ended on Oct. 3, 1995.

But Ron Goldman’s father Fred, who won a $42 million civil suit against Simpson, claims he ought to have the suit to sell toward the settlement.

A hearing at Santa Monica Superior Court on Monday heard testimony from Gilbert, who claimed the suit as his property because Simpson had not been found civilly liable for the two deaths when he gave him the garments.

Judge Gerald Rosenberg ruled the suit cannot be sold until ownership has been proved and ordered the item remain in storage until a decision can be made.
