According to PEOPLE, the couple filed papers this afternoon at the Bucks County Courthouse Reading, Pa. This is on the heels of a huge promotional campaign for their TLC show’s “BIG ANNOUNCEMENT” tonight.
Judging from paparazzi shots, rumors and reports from family members, the couple have been living separate lives for a long time, despite renewing their marriage vows in Hawaii last season.
There’s no word yet on what type of custody arrangement the two will make for their eight kids or how this will impact the show. I’ll wage Kate keeps up the gravy train as long as they let her, but who’s really interested in watching her make a shrew of herself without interruption?
However, if ratings are any indication, the American public is perpetually interested in train wrecks and will follow a messy divorce.
