Patrick Swayze is dead at the age of 57. Swayze has died after a two-year battle with pancreatic cancer. His publicist, Annett Wolf, says the actor died with family at his side.
His 1987 performance in Dirty Dancing thrust him into the spotlight and his role in the 1990 film Ghost cemented him in film history. Most recently, he starred in the A&E series called The Beast which got positive reviews but Swayze had to stop filming as his cancer progressed.
